About

The Hutchinson Family Singers
Memorial Project Group

We have begun the important work of creating a memorial and raising public awareness of the quartet. We are also working with the SAU (School Administrative Unit) to add a study of Milford history to the school curriculum that includes the Hutchinsons' prominent role in the abolitionist movement. We have received approval from the town selectmen for the memorial to be installed at the Keyes Memorial Park, near The Stage.

Benefits to the Community

The proposed memorial will:

  • Preserve the legacy of the Hutchinson Family Singers for future generations.

  • Foster civic pride by celebrating the achievements of local citizens.

  • Make a beautiful and inspiring addition to Keyes Memorial Park.

  • Promote education in American history and the struggle to end slavery.
